Okay so here we go. The idea for this project began a few days ago….I was feeling a little alone, as some of us single gals do. Being single hadn’t really bothered me much before. I’m young, and am living in the greatest city in the world! I did what i wanted, and enjoyed it, but it seemed lately that I while it was so great to be single, it wasn’t so great to feel alone. One by one all of my ”single and loving it” girlfriends were getting “wifed up”. I would read my horoscope in the newspaper and it would give me relationship advice. Yes, it seemed even my horoscope was in a relationship. I had dated quite often, in fact I began calling myself the queen of the first date.  Now i am ready for something more…Someone i could confide in. So, in talking to Lynn, a co-worker, friend,  and  probably one of the most brilliant people i have ever met, i made a decision: In 2010, I will meet “the one.” You know…The Antony to my Cleopatra, The Ricky to my Lucy…The Fred to my Wilma! In the few times I had complained about being alone Lynn would always say, ”If you really wanted to meet the man you were going to be with, you would. When your ready, you will do it.” Well finally, I am ready! 

Upon sharing this idea with a very dear friend, who we’ll call Lina, she gave my brilliant idea. “Well, why not blog about it? If you blogged about it, I world read it!” This idea immediately caught my attention. Being a writing major, both in undergrad and grad school, I had been dying to get creative with something! I started to throw ideas back and forth when I came to it. I am going to do everything, anything this city has to offer: Happy hours, baseball games, volunteering, maybe even speed dating, and see if I can land a man. And i will share all of the details of my adventures here! Sounds desperate? Well maybe it does a little. Being a New York City native, I’ve never really appreciated this city or have seen what it has to offer. So, hey, at least I’ll have fun being a little pathetic. And who knows? Maybe i’ll meet Mr. Right in the mix!
