Hi All! So due to a couple of bumps in the road last week, I was unable to go out with my Mr. Irish, as well as post a blog about it. Leaving people hanging is apparently a forte of mine, maybe i should start writing season finales on sitcoms or something…
Anyway! While Mr. Irish and i will be meeting sometime soon, i was not going to waste my time with waiting. I think we as females spend so much time and energy on waiting for a man. I mean there are plenty more out there, right? And yes I found them. All firemen…at a singles party!
My friend Heather and I went to the bar who was hosting the party for Happy hour and to scope out the men last night. Admission to the party was forty dollars, and we didn’t want to pay if it turned out to be a dud. It was when the bar was filling up when the woman who was the brains of the operation told us we had to leave. We turned to one of the men that we had met casually to say goodbye. Well it turns out we made friends with the right man. The man who owned the singles party website. “I’ll get you ladies in for 20 dollars. Deal?” Yes sir it was!
We met a few firemen of all shapes and sizes. The deal was that all the women got a quiz of firemen terms. We had to approach a few different men and asked them what these words meant. Standing next to the man Heather was talking to was a cute, stocky guy, and all of the sudden i froze. I am not a shy person, but for some reason i couldnt find the words. Until Heather asked where he was from. He said originally Boston, but that he was living in The Bronx currently. Turns out he lives 3 blocks away from me. He knows the same people i know. He goes to the same bars. He enjoys a good Yankee/Red Sox rivarly between friends (hey he deserves it, he lives in Bomber town) As we drank I learned more and more about him and he seemed very interesting. He had all the things i would look for in a guy, but it just seemed like he was a friend. Which was very cool, but who meets a friend a singles party? Me!
On the bus ride home it became a little bit clear to me. Was i really going to meet the man of my dreas at a singles party? Probably not. But at least it was fun, and i tried something new! I think it also helped me see what i am looking for in a man…Yes, Mister Boston Red Sox seemed almost perfect (being a huge Yankee fan, I have to stay true!) But maybe I’m looking for some aspects of him and some others that i will find in someone else! One thing I do know is that i refuse to settle! You have to kiss a couple frogs and I will do just that through my crazy adventures to find him..Time to weed out the herd!
